The Day before Riley left was actually pretty relaxed. Riley spent the morning saying goodbye to coaches and a few friends, packing and then we went to one last movie! We had Taco Tuesdays as usual.
Riley's brothers Jordan and Alex were both able to arrange to get off work to be there for The setting apart. They each prepared some things to say, that really set a special spirit of love and support, they are great brothers! In attendance were the Stake Presidency and Bishopric and a ward Patriarch and of course Darin and I and Jordan and Alex. It was a very special experience. He literally transformed before my eyes from Smiley Riley to Missionary Elder Riley Hansen. (Although I happen to know the smiling part rarely leaves him!) I could feel from that moment on that Riley was just ready to be there, ready to move on. Dessert in our house is the foundation of any special meeting! This one was not different. We finished the night with hugs, tears and Chocolate Elclair Cake!
Betty feels any occasion is right for frisbee or tug of war!
